Fundamentals

 

At myBJJ, every student who ties their white belt for the very first time is a Blue Belt in the making. Our Fundamentals Program is specially designed to cater to the specific needs of newcomers to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ), laying the groundwork for progression towards becoming a Blue Belt.

You Will:

  • Learn essential and fundamental Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu techniques
  • Master effective self-defense techniques
  • Increase your fitness level
  • Enhance your flexibility

 

The program is delivered in a safe, supportive environment to ensure consistent progress and effective learning. Class structure is key to success: students follow a carefully organized curriculum where skills are built upon progressively. After a brief warm-up, techniques are taught and practiced, with ample opportunity to absorb these skills through specific training drills and sparring.

Mixed BJJ

 

Once you reach your third stripe on your white belt after absorbing the fundamentals of BJJ and self-defense, it’s time to advance to the Mixed BJJ Program. Here, you will begin to learn more advanced techniques, including throws, takedowns, and other essential elements that will elevate your game.

You Will:

  • Learn more advanced Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu techniques
  • Learn throws & take downs, perfecting these through live sparring
  • Have the opportunity to practice your new skills against higher grades

 

This program will prepare you for your journey toward mastering the art of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and advancing to higher belts.

Advanced BJJ

 

Our Advanced BJJ Program is designed for those who have mastered the basics and are ready to take their skills to the next level. Whether you’re preparing for competition or simply want to refine your techniques, this program challenges you to deepen your understanding of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and improve your skills in a dynamic, live training environment.

You Will:

  • Integrate Gi and No-Gi concepts
  • Improve your competition game and strategy
  • Develop your BJJ skills for the MMA environment
  • Consolidate your Jiu-Jitsu game as you work toward earning your Black Belt

The Advanced Program is the perfect stepping-stone for those aiming to master the art of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and compete at a high level.

No Gi BJJ

MYBJJ Adults Jiu-Jitsu Classes

 

In No-Gi Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, practitioners train without the traditional Gi (kimono), focusing instead on grappling in athletic wear such as rash guards and shorts. This variation of BJJ emphasizes more on grips, body control, and submission techniques that can be applied without the aid of the Gi. The absence of the Gi changes the dynamics of certain positions, and students learn how to utilize different grips (such as wrist, ankle, or headlocks) and body positioning for control and submissions.

You Will:

  • Focus on speed and agility due to the lack of Gi grips
  • Develop control with body positioning, submission, and takedown techniques
  • Work on specific No-Gi techniques that are applicable in both BJJ and MMA
  • Build your game for competition or self-defense without the Gi
